Alexis Wallace, 15, was shot dead today as she tried to leave the room where a 16-year-old boy was playing with a handgun and discussing Russian Roulette.  The boy was loading and unloading the weapon and discussing the game.  The girl became nervous about his actions and was leaving the room when the boy pointed the gun at her back and pulled the trigger.  He thought the gun was not loaded.

Alexis was a good kid from a home that did not own a gun.

In Oakland, a prominent business man shot his estranged wife dead and them himself.

In a study published today in the Journal of Pediatrics, the number of gun deaths amongst rural kids is the same as that of city kids.  The study debunks the myth that gun violence for children is a big city problem.

A mother of four was shot dead in Boston early Saturday morning, but the bullet was intended for the man next to her.  She was shot in the abdomen just a few blocks from her home, and she ran up some stairs in an attempt to get away, but it was too late.  She collapsed on the stairs and died.  She was well liked in her community.  She leaves behind four children: a 1-year-old, 4-year-old twins, and a 7-year-old.


I guess the NRA would consider her death just part of the “acceptable losses” necessary for them to keep their guns.

A driver was shot multiple times while driving along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.  The B-W parkway is part of the National Park System.  It was shut down for five hours as park police investigated the shooting.  The driver will survive his injuries.

It only took three months after guns were allowed in our National Parks to have a shooting.  Isn’t this great!

So moms and dads, head to Yellowstone with the kids this summer.  Pack your camera, pack a picnic, and don’t forget to pack your Smith & Wesson.  Maybe you can take out the armed nut before he shoots ANOTHER one of your kids.

Ernest Clark, 40, of Natchez, Mississippi, shot his girlfriend, Candice Johnson, 26, dead yesterday, possibly because of a recent breakup.  They had been dating for about a whole month.  Ernest then went to his mom’s apartment and shot himself in the head.

…another “brave” man with a gun.
